A journey of 250,000 books intends to spark curiosity and stimulate the mind of the viewer. It took four days and the helping hands of many volunteers to build the aMAZEme labyrinth installation on the floor of the Clore Ballroom in the Royal Festival Hall. As part of London 2012 and Southbank Centre’s ‘Festival of the World,’ the completed maze is on view for visitors to interact and walk through until August 26th, 2012. When the maze is deconstructed at the end of the exhibition, all of the books will be donated to Oxfam to raise funds for their work fighting poverty around the world.
